I don't consider myself terribly superstitious, but this week I may pay attention!
We will have had the Time Change, Full Moon, and Friday the 13th all in the same week!
At least you have something to blame it on!
Every girl should feel like a princess at Prom! Altrusa believes this, and is holding Princess Night Project once again helping young girls find the right dress and accessories for that special night. I remember picking out my dress, although back in 1980 we really didn't go all out. Well, these girls have
over 1000 dresses to choose from! The event is Saturday, March 14th, at Family of United Methodist Church 800 E. Market St Akron from 10am-2.
All they need to do is tell which high school they attend. Altrusa is also accepting donations of new or gently used prom gowns, jewelry, purses, and wraps during the event!
The Ashland County Humane Society recently rescued 52 dogs from a home.
The pooches were underweight, and some are in need of medical attention. They depserately need donations
in monetary form, or towels and blankets and sheets. Special kudos to the Claremont Veteranry Clinic helping
with the dogs. Donations can be dropped off there. You can also make a donation at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
I know we have some wonderful pet rescues here closer to home, but this situation unfolded quickly and they need
help. Please consider, especially to those listeners in that area!!
If you have ever traveled Copley road near the White Pond intersection, you surely have looked up to the big bunny on the corner.
I have driven past it countless times in the past 22 years! Oddly though I have never stopped in to Charlies Ribs & Chicken wich occupied the resaurant for many years. It was recently taken down and many pondered what would become it the giant sign. Well, it was purchased at bidding by a Copley organization and now has a home in the Cincinnati" American Sign Museum..No date as for when it will arrive!
Raod trip?
The Akron Zoo will debut it's newest member, Baya, a beautiful snow leopard tomorrow during a special program.
Baya and her mother Shanti are finally coming out to investigate their wintry habitat. The zoo is holding
a special program to highlight the animals that love the chilly temp's, and give an update on the new
Wild Asia Exibit currently under construction. I am constantly amazed at how for the Zoo has come.
What a gem in our city. The program begins at 1:30pm and is included in your general admission ticket!
Dress warm!
So there has to be a few of us out there that did not get to see the award Hamilton on broadway!
Well now, everyone will be able to say they saw Hamilton, with the original cast!
Lyn--Manuel Miranda and his cast will hit movie theaters October of 2021. The film
will be distributed by Disney and has the potential to make volumes of money!'
I will be there!!
It's been almost 2 and one half weeks since my mother moved in with us.
She had back surgery and found the walker would not fit anywhere in her home. After about one minute, I decided to bring her to my home.
Our downstairs is perfect. Bedroom, bath with a walk in shower, and living room. Not to mention, Andrew is at school!
She came willingly. I will confess at the two week mark, I found I was just spent! Taking care of a husband, two dogs, and my mother, along with work
is taxing. I really have a new understanding for those who are taking care of someone you love. Fortunately, my mother should get
better at some point and be ready to go back to her home. Unfortunatly, many of you are taking care of terminal loved ones, and I cannot imagine.
I have found that while I am feeding, bathing, and making sure medications are taken, I have truly enjoyed just sitting and talking like we used to.
Just her and I, not on the phone, but in front of the fireplace watching Jeopardy!~
We may have switched places, but we still are mother and daughter.
So if you made any resolutions and are struggling to keep them, your good!
Today is the day to let it go. Personally, I did not start anything January 1st!
I know better. The loser feeling is too string. I will begin something in February, and NOT tell anyone.
That is sure death to any resolutions!
Yep, this is me!!!! Have a great weeekend!
