Friday, 9/14

Dolly Parton to be recognized for her music and charity work…
Carrie Underwood to light the Opry up pink…

 

Dolly Parton has been named the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year and will be honored at a ceremony in February. 
She is the first country artist to receive the group's recognition. Tom Petty, Lionel Richie, Bono, Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder are among the 28 past recipients.
In addition to her music, she is being honored for the Dollywood Foundation, which has been helpful in aiding child literacy around the world.

Carrie Underwood will flip the switch to turn the Grand Ole Opry's iconic barn backdrop pink for breast cancer awareness on October 26th.
Carrie's been an Opry member for 10 years and this is the 10th year of Opry Goes Pink. The two are teaming up to offer special ticket prices that include Carrie’s new album Cry Pretty, so you can Cry Pretty in Pink.

 

Thursday, 9/13

Kane Brown leads the country nominations at the AMAs…
Brett Young gives details on his sophomore album… 

The nominees for the American Music Awards are out. 
Kane Brown leads the country nominations with three nods. Thomas Rhett, Dan and Shay and Florida Georgia Line have two nominations each. 
The American Music Awards will air live from Los Angeles on October 9th on ABC. 

Brett Young will release his sophomore album, Ticket to L.A., on December 7th. Brett's debut album was full of sad ballads and he says this new album is more upbeat. Brett will be at the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park on November 17th.

 

Wednesday, 9/12

The ACM Awards have a date…
Carrie Underwood is getting a star…
CMT to celebrate women…

 

The Academy of Country Music has announced the date for next year's show.
The 54th Academy of Country Music Awards will take place at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on April 7th and will air live on CBS. 

Carrie Underwood gets her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 20th. 
On hand for the unveiling will be former American Idol judge Simon Cowell and her friend Brad Paisley.
Carrie's star is the 2,646th on the walk.

CMT will celebrate the women of country music with its annual Artist of the Year special. 
The show will honor Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman, and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott.
The show premieres on October 17th.

 

Tuesday, 9/11

Luke Bryan is back at #1…
Kelsea Ballerini is headed to The Voice… 

Congrats to Luke Bryan who scored the #1 song this week on the Mediabase Country Singles Chart with Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset. This is his 21st #1 single, and 3rd consecutive number one from his What Makes You Country album. This is also the second #1 for Ryan Hurd- Maren Morris’ husband as he co-wrote the tune.

Kelsea Ballerini is joining The Voice this season. 
She'll be the fifth judge on the new segment "The Comeback Stage." That segment spotlights six hopefuls from past seasons who return for another shot. Two winners will move on to join the regular teams on the live shows.
"The Comeback Stage" will stream on YouTube, The Voice Official App, Instagram TV, Facebook and NBC.com. 
The new season starts on September 24th.

 

Monday, 9/10

Zac Brown Band is headed to CMT Crossroads…
Luke Combs to headline another tour… 

Zac Brown Band will team up with pop star Shawn Mendes for an upcoming edition of CMT: Crossroads. 
Zac says, "This Crossroads will be very special with huge vocals and musicality. It will be unexpected and something that both sets of fans will enjoy.”
The show tapes next week in Nashville and will premiere on CMT on October 24th. 

Luke Combs will launch his second headlining tour -- and this time he's upping his game to arenas. 
The Beer Never Broke My Heart tour kicks off on January 31st in Alabama and he will make a stop in Columbus at the Schott on February 22nd. 
Tickets go on sale September 14th.
