This weekend was the very first Neon Nights at Clay’s Park in Canal Fulton. I am just going to cut to the chase. I had an absolute blast! The weather was incredible, the music was on point and all of you were so fun to be around! From younger to older, every one was there to hear some throwback 80s and 90s music.

I made it back into the campgrounds and I love meeting all of you and seeing how much you love country music and WQMX. You are all seriously THE best listeners.

David Lee Murphy officially kicked things off and sang all of his hits along with all of the songs he wrote that are hits. Terri Clark is well, Terri Clark and she nailed it! Then came Neal McCoy. I am certain he could play for 4 hours straight and we would be fine with it! He is so entertaining and just so nice! Dwight Yoakam can out swinging next with his sparkly suited up band and he played all the songs you wanted to hear. Day 1 was a success!

Day 2 began with even nicer weather and John Michael Montgomery. He didn’t mess around and got the crowd going by playing all his hits. Next up, the moment I was waiting for- Diamond Rio! These guys sounded great!! The worked the crowd and I felt like was 15 again! Sawyer Brown did the same- with classic songs and those dance moves, the crowd was loving it all. Josh Turner stepped in when Alabama had to cancel the remainder of their tour due to health issues and he did an amazing job.

Like I said, for two days the sun was shining over Neon Nights and we took it back to the 80s and 90s and it was just a great vibe! I love country music and getting out there with all of you and I can’t thank you all enough for letting me hang with ya for a bit. The big thank yous go to everyone at The Country Fest and Project Live that put on Neon Nights- Aaron, Joel, Jill, Hillary, Amber, Halee, the crew, the security team, the police and EMT, and everyone who volunteered out there. THANK YOU! I can’t wait for The Country Fest 2020 and I am sure there will be at Neon Nights 2020 ;)
