SW small Logo I got an e-mail from Jeremy a couple weeks ago asking where he could see some of my Memory Lane articles from a long while ago. They are all here at WQMX.com, but I have been doing this series for almost three years, so for the next couple weeks, I'll post some articles you may have missed. This is week two remembering some great country bands that I have written about over the years.  These bands all had GREAT success!

And THANKS for reading and listening every week!

WYNN - Eat of The Week - Gimme A Sammich!

There are people in the world, and in MY WORLD that don't like sandwiches, and I simply can't relate.  I mean what's wrong with these peeps?  There have been entire decades when they were the main staple of my diet, and maybe that wasn't the best diet, but the are good.

I have admit, I do like fresh sandwich ideas and there are a bunch of then here.   So let's break out the bread, bagels, and baguettes and get to work.

ENJOY!

You GOTTA Try These Sammiches!!

Yeah, I dreamt that...pt.2

I had another odd dream over the weekend. This one was sports related.

This time, I had a dream that in Northeast Ohio we were celebrating BOTH the Browns and Guardians winning it all in the same year! LOL. As always, I have no idea what brought this on. By the way, I do not know who either team beat for the league championship. All I know is there was a lot of TV coverage of people around here celebrating.

We DID come probably as close to this actually happening as it ever will in 2016. Remember? That year the Cavs DID win the Championship, and the Indians were up against the Cubs in the Series.

When I have weird dreams, they will be talked about here so you are the first to know ;) HAHAHAHA

New Music Friday!

Tyler Hubbard released his self-titled debut solo album today! It includes his singles "5 Foot 9" and "Dancin' In The Country". He'll be making some TV appearances in support of the new album so make sure you set your DVR! Monday, 1/30 he'll be on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and on his birthday, Tuesday 1/31, he'll be on Good Morning America.

During the WQMX Country Cafe we debuted a new song from Chris Janson called "All I Need Is You". Chris said in his story behind the song video that the song is a "super special love song" about his wife Kelly and that "at the end of the day like the song says, really nothing else matters. As long as we have our health and our happiness and our love. And we do. And I'm grateful for that."

This morning, Scott and Sarah premiered the next single from Cole Swindell, which we played again in the WQMX Country Cafe! Oh and we'll play it again tonight during New at Nine with Rachel Evans! Cole says "'Drinkaby' is break up song, but it's a fun, uptempo break up song. A lullaby may help you fall asleep, but a "Drinkaby" hopefully helps you get over that ex that you've been trying to get over."

Other new releases today include the Nate Smith x MOTi "Whiskey on You" remix, Craig Campbell's album Tractor Songs, Elle King's new album Come Get Your WifeLuke Combs also previewed a new song that will be available on his upcoming new album Gettin' Old that will drop on 3/24! Pre-order the new album and you get "Growin' Up and Gettin' OId"!

Happy listening!!

I love my furball Buttercup. I spend money on his food (he has a soecial diet), and make sure he has a good amount of toys to keep him occupied. I spend my good, hard earned money on said toys...as does my mom. But what does this little nerd do?... plays with simple everyday things!

Now, I know all cats do it. Once, he decided that the circular lid to a thing of litter would make a great toy! Just this week, he thought the lid to a cannister of Tootsie Rolls I got for Christmas would be fun to play with! Funny how they get entertained by the simplest things lol.

Now to be fair, he does still play with the actual cat toys we buy him too. It's just funny to watch what he will decide to play with next.

Inquiring Minds... or Ears

Today, I received a call from Kim from Massillon on the Cricket Wireless Studioline 330-370-2000.  She asked what I listen to when I'm not on-air?  Truthfully, I listen to 94.9 WQMX all the time... the only times I don't is when I'm catching up on just released music for a meeting, researching the "Throwback Song of The Day" at 3:20...  or when I hear something on a movie or something that I can't place.
So to answer Kim's question... I will resort to my last songs searched... which could have been super new/old or searched for any number of reasons.  But here goes...

1.  Lainey Wilson - Road Runner (this is fire probably my favorite of Lainey's so far, she is killing it.  I can't wait till the show at The Dusty Armadillo in March!)

2.  Old Dominion - Memory Lane (such an infectious song.)

3.  Confederate Railroad - Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind (Love the story telling, reminds me of my grandpa.)

4.  HARDY - mockingbird & THE CROW (basically the whole album *NSFW*)  Although the Claymation Video reminds me of a messed up California Raisins for this single 'mockingbird & THE CROW*)

5.  Kenny Chesney - Back Where I Come From (takes me back to where I Come From)

6.  Hank Williams Jr. - My Name Is Bocephus (looked this up because someone didn't believe me Bobcat Goldthwait was in the video)

7. Waylon Jennings - I Ain't Livin Long Like This (it's Waylon...)

8. Montgomery Gentry - Daddy Won't Sell The Farm (they played it at The Dusty one night hadn't heard it in a minute.)

9.  Eric Church - Over When It's Over  (I do listen to a lot of Eric Church and the show at Blossom will rock in June.)

10.  Brothers Osbourne - All Night  (I wanted to dress up like the Black Light Costumes in this one for a Halloween. Didn't pan out.)

Again, I really only listen to WQMX.  These above are somewhat recent or over the past number of years... Thanks for asking Kim!

On TV Yesterday and TODAY!

Last night was a big night on late night TV! First off, Hailey Whitters made her late night debut singing her debut single "Everything She Ain't" on JImmy Kimmel Live!  What a moment for the rising star:

HARDY and Lainey Wilson made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to sing their duet "wait in the truck", and once again (thinking back to their CMA performance) this was soooo good!

HARDY then made an appearance on the third hour of the TODAY show to talk about his new album and sing another song off of his new album "the mockingbird & THE CROW", this one's called "screen":

How times change...

So with the snow on Wednesday morning, schools closed. It seems like just yesterday I would've dreamed to wake up to snow covered roads that were nearly impassable and hoping a plow hadn't come by in many hours so we could stay home from school and watch The Price is Right ;).

How times have changed! Now, I always hope that heavy snow goes around us so I can have an easy drive into work or going home. I'm always looking to count how many plows I see hoping that number is high so I don't get stuck trying to get home. It's funny how your viewpoint changes with age :).
