It’s July and that means it’s National Ice Cream Month.
I like a creamy treat every now and then, even though I wish I could have one every day. Locally, we are lucky because we have some gems when it comes to ice cream shacks, dairy isles, ice cream shoppes and such.
The Warren and I are planning a local Ice Cream Crawl- to visit a few of our favorite places in one day and then ranking them. It is going to be difficult, but we feel like we are up to the task!
Here is the list of some of my favorite ice cream places in the area- feel free to add your faves!
Almost Heaven, Canton
Pavs, Akron (multiple locations too)
Osers, Canal Fulton
Cherry Street Creamy, Canal Fulton
Strickland’s, Akron
New Baltimore, New Baltimore and Uniontown
Stoddard’s, Stow/Kent
Katie’s Korner, Kent
Handel’s, Green location

Freedom lies in being bold.
Summer has finally arrived and with it have been some very high temps that can cause some serious health issues that put us, and those we love, at risk for heat related illness or death.
Officials for the City of Cleveland have released some Tips to help you and those you care about to stay safe during Summers' extreme temps and the folks at Fox 8 Cleveland have the list and some other helpful links for you HERE.
Please remember to check on older family members when temps are high and of course, NEVER leave children, loved ones or pets inside any vehicle unattended as it only takes minutes for temperatures to reach life threatening levels in a closed car on a hot day.

Kane Brown has released his next single following up his fourth consecutive #1 single "Good As You". This new one is called "Homesick", which Kane was one of the co-writers, and it's featured on his 2018 album Experiment. The song is personal to him because of being out on the road all the time, but the video has even more of an impact. It features footage of service men and women returning home from deployment and reuniting with their families, and the video to “the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces.” It's definitely a tear jerker!
Kane is currently on tour with Jason Aldean, along with Carly Pearce, and will make a stop at Blossom Music Center on Friday, August 9th.
2018 American Idol alum Gabby Barrett has released her first single since her Top 3 finish on the show. "I Hope" is a song that reveals her hopes for an ex's new releationship, but she tells PEOPLE that the song isn't about any guy in particular, it's a mix of bad break ups from what friends and fans have told her.
Next up for Gabby is her wedding to fiance and fellow American Idol alum Cade Fohner!

It has been many years since I brought my kids to the Akron Zoo. It has always been one the best destinations in our back yard!
Over the years, they have continually built the facility with the animals and visitors in mind for the ultimate experience.
From Brews At The Zoo, to their newest exhibit, Pride Of Africa, which debuts tomorrow, the Akron Zoo has become an amazing
facility due to the workers comittment! Take the family and experience two African lion prides making their home now, on what
looks like the savannas of Kenya!!! They will love it!
Carlos Santana is in! He will be the starting first baseman in the 2019 All Star Game for the American League on Tuesday, July 9th! We have to represent the home field and home team Cleveland Indians!
He received 49% of the vote, out of 3 total on the ballot. This is the first All Star Game appearance of his career and he will be in the Home Run Derby. With the game being at Progressive Field this year, excitement is super high. I’ve got a good feeling about this game!
The last time the All Star Game was played in Cleveland, Sandy Alomar Jr. hit the game winning home run and was named the game MVP. I love Sandy. I love Carlos. I love CLE. I love the Indians. Yeah, this is gonna be a good game!

The comeback is always stronger than the setback.
“Imperfection is attractive, because it’s one thing we all have in common.”
When we unite as a city, a nation, or even around a ball team, the thing that brings us all together is the commonality of it all. Usually there is that one thing that at that one moment we all have in common and nothing else matters. It’s powerful.
As people, imperfection really is the only thing we all, without exception share. I embrace the imperfections in my life. I prefer them. Sure, I want to be presentable as I walk through the world, we all do. But I have found that for me, authenticity is far easier to achieve and find than perfection. And I think a whole lot more attractive. When something truly authentic is found, I feel it’s to be treasured, because it only gets better as it ages.
Authentic things are sought after as treasures. And people should be too. When you meet someone who is truly authentic in how the are, that means they are imperfect right from the get go. They are easier to know, easier to talk with, and to expand a relationship with. I also feel they have an instant connection with you, and you with them. And the reason is more simple than you might think.
Because of our deep knowledge of our own individual selves, we know the imperfections they embrace through their authenticity, make them more like us.
