This Memorial Day weekend should see a lot of grill usage (weather permitting), but will most people be using a gas grill or a charcoal grill? I have lived in my house for about 18 years now, and I have these bushes here that have been there way longer than that.  I have no real idea what these are, and for the most part they are nice and green.

They do bloom once a year though, and are very pretty.  For about 15 minutes.  Or so it seems.  And today was the day!  The bloom is very short, but nice.  But would it be too much to ask for a longer bloom. 

And who the made the decision all those decades ago.  "Hey honey, let's plant something that's a major focal point of the house that blooms about 15 minutes a year?"   "OK, sounds great..." 

I guess I should be thankful for the pretty bloom and enjoy the colors....for about 10 more minutes.  Good thing I was home. 

 

This weekend is the official unofficial start of summer and a lot of us will be firing up the grill. Not me and the Warren. I know we are late to the game, but we finally bought an Air Fryer and we. Are. In. LOVE! Where has this machine been our entire lives?

The Warren made chicken wings first and said they were incredible, so I had to try! Last night, I made us some hot dogs. I kid you not, I will never make a hot dog any other way again!!!! They were amazing. I mean I won’t turn down other hot dogs, but I can’t clearly express how impressed I was with how this Air Fryer cooked them.

I am not clear on how the Air Fryer works, but it cooks with air and it’s cleaner, healthier and I love it. I even cooked my cauliflower fries and they were crispier than just baking them. I am hooked. As many of you all know, you can register online to get other great Air Fryer recipes and I can't wait to experiment.

So, the moral of this story is- Air Fryers are the future, the now, and a must! This weekend we will Air Fry all the foods!

Brett Young has released the second single from his sophomore album Ticket To L.A. called "Catch". You may have heard him perform it recently on CMT Crossroads with Boyz II Men. The song was co-written by Brett along with songwriters Ashley Gorley and Ross Copperman, and he says that the concept for the song was born out of another one they were writing together...

Another new food find!

Picture it- you are trying to watch what you’re eating, maybe low carb-ing like me. You go to a party with your friends or you are having people over. They are eating chips, pizza, all the carbs. Maybe you need an alternative. I have found veggie chips, straws, light popcorn, etc. What I really miss are my go to party snack- the Cheez-It.

I found a pretty good substitute. From the Ground Up Cauliflower Crackers. They look like Cheez-Its with way less carbs. They come in sea salt and nacho flavor. They get the job done and you can have 44 crackers with about 23 carbs.

This brand also has other cauliflower products- pretzels and crackers, and I found them all at Acme.
