Canadian country group James Barker Band has released a new single called "Keep It Simple" from their second EP Singles Only. They recently released the video for the new song which takes you back to simpler times, the 1950's, with some comedy mixed in. What do you think of their new song?
Racve fans it's your chance to see America's Rallycross cars at Mid Ohio in Lexington!
This weekend the cars debut in Ohio at one of the best mixed tracks around! I worked in Mansfield at Y105
for 4 years and frequented Mid Ohio for many events! Even Paul Newman stopped there!
The Rallycross cars go from 0-60 in 1.9 seconds and can be modified cars or new builds.
This will be the first of two Rallycar events, the second running October 5-6.
For more info go to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course!
One of the best parts of my job, or any job, is when you do right. Over the weekend was our 18th annual WQMX Pet Expo. I work this event every year in conjunction with lots of amazing sponsors and it's one of my favorites.
HUGE Thanks to our amazing team at Rubber City Radio - They made this event run great! Lots of work!
With a goal of adopting out as many animals as we can in a single day, it always feels good to give a voice to such a worthwhile day.
AWWWW - Dogs!
If you came out and were a part of this incredible event, thank you, and put it on your radar for next year. And if you adopted a new family member - Thanks again!!!
I ate all the carbs, I saw the Bean, I walked the river, went in tall buildings, saw Wrigley Field and had a blast with my family!
We decided to do a long weekend vacation to get away for my brother-in-law Larry’s birthday to a favorite city, Chicago. We stayed in Wicker Park and loved it. We had a great dinner at Bavette’s Steakhouse, walked the river and the city and took it all in.
Since it was vacation after all, I decided to eat all the food. I had donuts, bagels, we brunched, I had to have 2 Chicago hot dogs, we went to Small Chevall- a well know burger place, and then we ended up at Signature Room on the 95th Floor of the Hancock Tower. I love the views there! The night we went it went from clears skies to foggy in about 60 seconds. It was incredible to to watch!
Of course we went to see Wrigley Field and visited a few bars in Wrigleyville. I said Go Tribe a bunch ;) But, one of the best meals we had there was at the Chicago Pizza and Over Grinder Co. Oh my! They are know for their Pizza Pot Pies! They are insane!
I ate, drank, laughed and enjoyed seeing all the sights. Thanks Chicago!

Don't change so people will like you. Be yourself and the right people will love you.
Old Dominion recently talked to People about their new single "One Man Band", lead singer Matthew Ramsey says this is the first true love song the band has put out. This is the third single from their upcoming self-titled album that is due out on October 25th... what do you think about it?
I just read that black bears are making their way into our state! Now these are still considered endangered animals,
so don't get your shotgun out! Word is, mamma bear kicks the boys out to find their own territory so she can have
more babies! The bears appear to moving west from Pennsylvania! Now they are mostly adorable when samll,
but can grow to several hundred pounds. Hmmm, would not want to run in to one. That being said, wild life
specials say they are not aggressive. Mostly like huge racoons!!! Really? I hope you are right.
they give a few tips to bear-proof your yard:
Remove birdfeeders
Store garbage away
Keep pet foods inside
Clean out grille when done
Hives should be fenced in
Loud noises should scare them off should you encounter one, however, they do not like to be corned!
Don't go for the selfie!!
I am very proud to say over the next few weeks I'll be telling you about all the incredible things that Habitat For Humanity Of Summit County does for us on the air on WQMX.
I have been associated with them for a number of years as the Honorary Chair for the Annual Golf Outing (that you can play in and/or sponsor if you want to register) and I am proud of that. But when I was talking with Annie Boyer and others from Habitat a few weeks ago about ALL they do, it dawned on me that you never stop learning about all the incredible things they can do for you, and for us all. And it's all non-profit of course.
The time is right for Habitat. They, of course believe in doing well for those who need help, but they reuse, recycle, and redo and have been for years. If you take a few minutes and click on their website, you can learn of many things that may benefit others, maybe even you. They provide outstanding services I never knew before that can help you save money - and lots of it. And it's free.

I am very proud to endorse, and be the voice of the great people there and all the fantastic work they do. They are amazing people.
Let's Play Some Golf Too!
If you're participating in Akron's curbside Recycling Program, well I hope you are doing it right! Starting this week, if you see someone nosing around in your Recycling Bin at the curb, you have nothing to worry about... as long as there are no "contaminants" in yours. Things like yard waste, food, plastic bags and several other things that are a big no-no in the recycle bin can get you a warning for your first and second offences, and a third violation will result in your bin being taken away. Officials from 'Keep Akron Beautiful' say it isn't a punishment and won't affect most residents, but repeat offenders and those intentionally using the bins for things like construction waste are the reason for this new system.
