Gas is cheap right now!
Well, maybe it's not exactly cheap, but it is a whole lot better than it has been anytime recently. You may know that a slightly different, cleaner-burning type of gas is used in the summertime as opposed to the colder seasons. The winter gas blend is less expensive, and I suspect the local stations just made the switch after Labor Day. There's also the speculation that this election season we find ourselves in contributes to the decrease in prices at the pump.
I can't confirm if either of these things are the case, but I'm not going to question this good thing. You see, I have a lot of gas-powered stuff. For starters, there's my car, the Blazer. That old '98 S-Series is horrible on MPG, for what it is. Then there's my other car, my classic El Camino, which is the antithesis of fuel-efficient. I also run plus grade gas in it, so it's definitely not soft on my wallet driving that thing.
With those, I have the motorcycle, and that little Honda 250 just sips on fuel. It's awesome and the price per gallon doesn't really matter so much, resultingly. I also have a similar Honda 250 on my quad that does okay.
But wait, there's more!
I put gas in my push mower, my tractor, my boat, my leaf blower, my pressure washer, my go kart, and my minibike too. Then, of course, I have a five gallon can I like to keep full.
I'm no long-haul trucker, but gas prices matter a lot to me, clearly. Currently, I'm stoked. In fact, I took advantage of this opportunity and filled up EVERYTHING! I hardly ever have much gas in anything, really, so this is a wonderful situation right now.
Be sure to get some while the getting's good, yourself. Unconditioned gas expires after about three months, by the way, so keep that in mind if you've got something like a generator or snowblower.
