Joe Headley

staff tim homeJoe is an enthusiastic young talent in radio who is living the dream as a personality on his favorite station, WQMX! Joe got his start in college serving as the Production Director for the University of Akron's Z88, and his love for live and local radio has since skyrocketed. He was brought on as an intern for RCRG in 2022 working as a weekend jock and member of the street team in promotions until landing the overnight position on WQMX.

Joe is a lifelong local to the Akron/Canton area. Outside of the studio, he has a love for boating, fishing, disc golf, and off-roading. He is the proud owner of a classic American muscle car, and the toughest decision he faces on a sunny day is whether to drive his Chevy or ride his motorcycle. Fun fact: Joe LOVES grape flavor.

My Top Ten: Tractors!

Written by
When it comes to brand loyalty, few products are as polarizing as tractors. Whether it's a farmer pulling a plow through his fields or a groundskeeper mowing a baseball field on a zero-turn, people with tractors are out there making things happen! Regardless of if it's for your backyard or your business, a tractor needs to serve as a dependable workhorse, and all of these following companies make some great ones. With that, here's my…

Let me begin by extending a happy Valentine's Day to you from the station you love most, 94.9 WQMX! We love our listeners so very much and thank you always for tuning in.  In the holiday spirit, I wanted to compile a little list of some country love songs we're currently spinning to help set the mood on this day for lovers. This is only a small sample of the many different tunes we play…

Elle Yeah, Dolly!

Written by
If you've been in the loop on country music news and happenings, you surely saw the recent incident with Elle King at Dolly Parton's 78th birthday celebration event. If you missed it, basically, Elle was acting a fool on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. She was heavily intoxicated, and no one's really upset with her for having a good time; she just pushed it too far. During her performance, she cursed multiple times at…

Coming This Week!

Written by
We're big fans of Lainey Wilson here around the station, so her announcement of brand-new music has us on the edge of our seats. The upcoming single shares a title with her tour, "Country's Cool Again." A snippet of this song was posted a while back and even more tastes of the project have dropped since, giving us a good base from which to judge it. These few samples indicate something special is on the…

It's that special time of year...

Written by
February is far from everybody's favorite month. It's cold and grey, it's the end of Football season, and the best part of it is that it's not January. Well, that, and February marks the return of McDonald's Shamrock Shake! You read that right; it's back, and apparently you can already order one now. Since 1970, this special menu item has graced us with its annual presence for a limited time, and there's no specifics on…

My Top Ten: Toby Keith Songs

Written by
Toby Keith is nothing short of an iconic superstar in country music, and we are so saddened by the news of his death earlier this week. His music catalog is extensive, and the success he's had on the charts spanning years is something even the biggest names of today's age could only wish for. With an unparalleled passion for what he did and a patriotic heart of gold, Toby Keith was taken from us far…

Such Kindness!

Written by
It's always an adventure in my twenty-five-year-old vehicle. With its high mileage and mysterious history, who knows what is bound to break and when. I know my way around a garage and wouldn't have bought the car otherwise, as it wasn't perfect, but some things do come rather unexpectedly.  Tuesday morning, I was headed to the bank to withdraw a little cash when all the sudden my clutch pedal went limp. Aside from the middle…

My AI Calendar

Written by
Not long ago we flipped the calendars from January to February, and it was then that I noticed something was a little off with mine. For as long as I can recall, I have always had a car calendar on my wall, and while some of them have not been the highest quality, I've never had one like this.  I was looking at the picture of the sports car for February when I noticed that…

First and foremost, on behalf of WQMX, I'd like to thank everyone who came out to Saint George Fellowship Center on Saturday to play Euchre in support of NEOPAT. We raised some money for an awesome cause and had some fun, and that's what events like these are all about! The food and drinks were great, the venue was perfect, the rounds generally went smoothly, and many people went home with some awesome prizes like…
