WQMX is stationed in Akron, and there's something in our backyard that's wildly underappreciated- the zoo! 

I went to the Akron Zoo on Wednesday with my brother and my fiancée, and we had a blast. We spent a few hours checking out all the exhibits and walked a little less than three miles in total. It was a beautiful sunny day and an amazing way to get some steps in. 

There's plenty of great reasons to visit and support this community asset. If you've got children, you'll appreciate the family-friendliness of the place. It's affordable too, especially mid-week. You're bound to learn something about this world we live in and all its creatures, and it's easy to navigate. What's more, despite the smaller size of the zoo, there's still a great variety of animals to enjoy viewing.
