No, not that one!
I mean snow. It's that white stuff that falls around this time of year, when it's cold enough.
There's a chance for flurries later this week, and that means a couple things. First, I really need to get my El Camino inside. The motorcycle is already parked away, and I'm working on a garage spot for that old Chevy. The same goes for our patio furniture, grill, and whatever else might not fare too well outside through these next few months.
Next is similar to the first task- I need to protect my other vehicle from the elements. That's mostly the road salt, really, so I'm considering an oil spray undercoating for my daily driver. I finally got the heat situation somewhat figured out, and all the parts to fix my 4x4 came in, so it's hopefully just those things to do and I'll be set.
With my weak output of warm air from the defrost vents, I plan to pick up a spray bottle and some isopropyl alcohol to assist in the deicing of my windshield. It was suggested to me by a former coworker of mine and works like a charm, so maybe consider it for your own convenience.
I like to let my car's engine warm up for a little bit too, so I'll need a wheel chock as well. (It's a manual transmission vehicle with a broken parking brake release cable.) I carry an extra ignition key so that I can lock my doors with it running in neutral, and I can't have it rolling away.
Finally, my quad must come together quickly in order for me to plow snow with it. I'm swapping in a fresh battery and I may have to replace the winch. The plow is already setup and good to go, and the ATV has been recently serviced. Aside from the electrical, the only thing I need to do is swap over to my wheels with the tire chains.
It's crunch time for this sort of stuff, but don't let me spook you. There shouldn't be any major accumulation in the immediate future with the ground still warm and nothing crazy forecasted. I'm just trying to stay ahead of it.
It's a nice start to this week, so enjoy the warmth and sunshine while you can; and be sure to ready up for winter!
