Scratching My Head

Written by
Recently I've been getting back into watching one of my all-time favorite shows, The Simpsons. I picked back up around season 7, a point in the series where I think they were putting out some of the best episodes. Earlier ones are less visually appealing and include some references I don't understand, and anything past season 15 or so is a hollow shell of what once was. They removed some characters and made the show…

Secret Skills

Written by
I've always been one of those people who is generally decent at most things, but not exceptional. I'm not the greatest skateboarder, guitarist, artist, or athlete, but I'm also not bad. I cast a wide net and enjoy doing a variety of activities; I simply don't have the patience to master just one thing.  With that said, there are a couple of things that for some reason, I excel at doing. I like to call…

One Last Ride

Written by
On Friday, it was nice outside. Throughout the afternoon the sun was shining, and the temps were in the mid-60's. As I drove around, I noticed an uptick in classic cars and motorcycles on the roads, and this inspired me to bust out the old Nighthawk. It had been a few weeks since I last had the bike out for a cruise, and it was a total blast to be behind the handlebars once more.…

Gettin' Back Into Guitar

Written by
I've played a good number of instruments in my lifetime. My first experience learning music was with the recorder in elementary school, and I never really loved it. A few years went by, and in middle school I found myself taking private lessons on the trumpet. My instructor was a coworker of my mom's. He told me I have an ear for music and a solid playing tone, but I never really cared to take…

My Top Ten: Childhood Toys

Written by
Sometimes I feel like a big kid. By that, I mean I cannot go through a supermarket without checking out the toy aisle. I know many adults hunt for rare items to resell online, but when it comes to buying out toys meant for children I'm not a fan of that. No disrespect. If there's some collectible Funko Pop or similarly limited edition display-piece, that's totally different. Personally, I will scoop up every single El…

Go Take a Hike!

Written by
Take a hike is a somewhat disrespectful phrase commonly used to tell somebody to go away; I'm sure you already know that. Today, I mean it literally. For your Wednesday in Northeast Ohio, the forecast is calling for sunny skies with daytime highs in the mid-60's! In the fall season, I couldn't ask for a better day than that in terms of weather. Whether you're hiking, biking, working outside around the house, or simply enjoying…

Smart Phones at Concerts

Written by
There is certainly a debate as to whether or not cell phones and other camera devices should be welcome at concerts, and I think there's validity to both sides of the matter. On the one hand, performances are often very special occasions which merit something to fondly look back upon. On the other hand, taking these photos and videos distracts those around you, blocks views, and disengages/detaches you from the experience.  Some artists have taken…

Her Voice!

Written by
It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Megan Moroney. I'm picking up what she's putting down musically, and I think her voice is just so unique and cool. This might be a bold claim, but I think she's got the potential and right sound to work as (female) Morgan Wallen type. I feel like you could put the same song in front of them and either would make it great, and that…

Too Cute!

Written by
It's about time I introduce you to my furry friends, Freddy and Fiona. Freddy, or Frank as I often call him, is my big boy who's essentially a slinky ragdoll. We got him a few years back for Christmas, and he was the last pick of the litter. I like to play fight with him and throw some karate chops his way as he claws and bites me. He's a bit of a menace who…

My Top Ten: Video Games!

Written by
Video games are awesome! They're a fun way to kill some time, connect with friends, and decompress. Some people take them very seriously, but I would describe myself as a casual gamer. I like a game that I can pick up and play at any given time, with minimal commitment. RPG's like Skyrim are super fun, but these days I just don't have the time to get into any one game as such.  Through the…
