Blue Blooded Woman - Alan Jackson - 1989 (Album - Here In The Real World)
In radio we call a single that's released as a hit that goes absolutely nowhere, a "Stiff." That's this song. But that's what makes this song worthy of the Jukebox. In 1989 an unknown Alan Jackson had this as his first released song. It "Stiffed" at #45. going nowhere at all. But then the song, Here In The Real World, went #1. And for the next ten years, every song he put out went top ten. And for about 10 years after that, more huge hits, making him one of Country's biggest stars of all time. Point is, sometimes you just never know. It would have been easy to give up on Alan Jackson, as that does happen to many who never find a foothold out of the gate. But this song wears the emblem proudly as about a only "stiff" that actually led to a really huge career. For the record, I love this song, as I was a program director in those days and I thought he had a great look and sound. Glad I was right - sort of then.
