This, in country, or in about any other kind of music would be known as a power ballad. The passion here is palpable and this is arranged aggressively. This is a stand out song to be sure. If this seems too strong for your musical taste up front, I would dive deep and really listen to the lyrics, as they will resonate with many who are in love, or new in a relationship especially. This is a well done song that if given a real chance could be a hit.

They say "There's no crying in Baseball"...how about panicking? or at least biting fingernails? I know that's going WAY too far at this point in the season, but MAN! The Guards are 6-8 in the month of May so far, but is it me or does it seem worse?! We started out the month losing the series to the Yankees in New York. Then we won the series with Minnesota at home, but then immediately lost the next series at home to Detroit. Next, we took 2/3 from the LA Angels at home, but now BEST case is we lose 2/3 in Chicago against the White Sox.
This franchise has a history of playing so-so baseball early and then they come alive as we head toward the playoffs. It would just be nice for a change to get off to a great start and keep that momentum going. As a Guards/Indians fan for 25 years, I guess I know what to expect - those really good, exciting series in August and September.
With the Memorial Day Holiday weekend here, I thought it might be fun to revisit some of the best Memorial Day songs over the past number of years. Country has a long history of being proud of the country and the brave people that have defended it - and still do. We do it better by far than any other format of music.
Thank you for your service and enjoy these GREAT songs!
Workin' Man's PHD - Aaron Tippin - 1993 - (Album - Call Of The Wild)
Aaron Tippin was a real favorite of the 1990's. He had a very loyal fan base that loved him. I felt he was singing for the hard working fan, the underdog, or the misunderstood. Fans loved him for it, and after his first big song, You've Got To Stand For Something, he got everyone's full attention. This song celebrates the American worker, and we all love when we do that. This is one of those songs I can only hear Tippin singing. In fact, he had a few like that including My Blue Angel, Kiss This, and That's As Close As I'll Get To Lovin' You. He has that rare ablilty to make the song his very own, and I believed every word he ever sang. I can't help but wonder in a different time would he have had even bigger success as the 90's were just stacked with marquee artists. But I always say, guys LIKE Tippin were a huge part why the 90's were as big as they were. Because the under card of artists were the best we have had in my 43 years of this format. The stars just below the Mega Stars absolutely insured we always had a GREAT song on the radio. This song is terrific, always sounds good, and the message is timeless!
He's Still Part Of The Roots And Boots Tour
I feel like I need the Rose Dawson "It's been 84 years" meme from Titanic to describe how long it feels since I hurt my ankle falling up my steps. I checked, it's been 16 days. Truthfully it DOES feel like 84 years! LOL.
I am finally able to walk with almost no pain at all, the bruises are just about completely gone, ANNNNDD as of today I am able to wear a nicer pair of slip on shoes that I normally wear to work for the first time since this happened! That feels like a majo victory. Up until now, it was too painful to push my foot inside the shoe or twist my foot to try to fit the shoe on. As of tonight though...NO MORE!
It is so nice having a choice in footwear again! Pleased to no longer be stuck wearing tennis shoes or maybe sandals if it's nicer out. Now if I can keep myself from doing this again for 84 years, I'll be GOLDEN!!! haha

Nate Smith sent his next single to radio, his follow up to his debut #1 single "Whiskey on You". Nate says "'World On Fire' is about when a relationship is ending, all of the things that can come with it. Sometimes you've got friendships that were built around that relationship, you've got places that you used to love to go like bars and different scenes and stuff, and it's really challenging when you break up because those places are now kinda taboo to walk into. That's really what the song is about is how to pick up the debris after everything has fallen apart."
Megan Moroney made an appearance on the TODAY Show this morning (5/15/23) to sing her smash debut single "Tennessee Orange"! She also talked to the hosts about her debut album Lucky:
