Southern Star - Alabama - 1989 - (Album - Southern Star)
Super group Alabama had so many hits over so many years, it hard to remember them all. This song is one of my favorites from them, released about 10 years into their incredible run off the album of the same name. We owe Alabama so much, it's hard to put into words. Many years of the 80's they were the absolute face of country music and were selling millions of albums and concert tickets. Their run ran well into the 90's when they were joined by the throngs of new stars they helped create. They were the first step in modernizing country, as their sound was wonderful, and they looked like the audience we wanted to desperately to attract that we had never been able to. They were trailblazers and this is one of their very best songs.
